And the journey continues….

Hello! The two Finnish girls form Helmi Business College writing here again!
After we started our new tasks in Popeye Village we were finally enjoying our work days. Krista had been working in the Souvenir shop and Henni had been working in the reception at the gate. The workdays have been good. Henni has put wristbands to customers and explained the customers what to do in Popeye Village. Krista has done some inventory in the shop counting the items and replacing new ones and helping out in different things if needed. We are supposed to change the jobs every other week, one works at the gate and one in the souvenir shop. Finally some customer service what we were supposed to do at the first place.

Krista unfortunately had to face new difficulties pretty soon because she is now suffering from chicken pox. She may have gotten it from our new workplace because there is a lot of kids or maybe she just got it from the bus or something, you never know. She first got a one week sick leave but it is now extended for two weeks, because Popeye Village and the doctor thinks that we can’t take any risk infecting any child. Popeye Village has a lot of child tourists with their family visiting there. And as an adult chicken pox is worse and more dangerous than when you are a kid.The nearest health centre is in Mosta, near the famous church. Krista visited there when she had to wait for the bus.

Henni is also suffering from bad cough and went to the doctor also to get some medicine. She also got almost one week sick leave from work. First she had only the cough but after couple days she had also fever and the cough was starting to have fling with it.

One week ago we found out that our teacher Kirsi had been trying to get Paragon to change our apartment because of the long distance to work. Paragon knew that we didn’t have the Internet but they still informed us about the move through email. Of course we didn’t get the information as soon as we would have needed and we didn’t get to change the apartment on Saturdays as planned. The new moving day was due to be on Tuesday but our joy turned into sadness when we found out that Paragon didn’t want us to move because of Krista’s sickness. Paragon contacted Henni again saying that only Henni is moving. But now that Henni is also sick, she couldn’t move either until she comes well. Krista has to stay in this old apartment because Paragon is using chicken pox as an excuse. So right now we don’t know about the future living conditions. We guess that we are not moving out anymore though.

Before Henni got really sick, she had her birthday on 3th of May. She had party at our apartment with some of our housemates and three Finnish girls from upstairs apartment (and also neighbours from downstairs). They had really good time and went to Paceville, where is all the bars at Malta. The night was very long and Henni and company arrived back home at 6 am! After that Henni went straight to Golden Bay Beach with one of our housemate. It was very hot day and since that day it has been very warm here. Henni was supposed to go horse riding at birthday but decided not to go because she hadn’t slept last night at all and it could have been maybe dangerous if she would have fall asleep on horseback… But the night was very fun and crazy! Only bad thing was that Krista couldn’t take part with it because of her sickness..
